On May 4, the Michigan Transportation Team (MTT) held a rally at the State Capitol to reinforce its support for infrastructure funding. Large equipment, traffic signs, and orange barrels could be seen all around the Capitol building, while MTT coalition members including ACEC, CRAM, and MITA attended a press conference in the rotunda. ACEC Executive Director, Ron Brenke, presented Representative Pam Byrnes (Chair of the House Transportation Committee/Speaker Pro Tem), with 5,000 signatures from an ACEC-led petition drive encouraging legislators to invest in Michigan's infrastructure. Copies of the signatures were also hand delivered to Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop and House Speaker Andy Dillon.  The event drew heavy media coverage.
