A report released by the Anderson Economic Group, LLC confirms that investing in Michigan transportation system today will positively impact Michigan’s economy. The report titled: Michigan’s Roads: The Cost of Doing Nothing and the Rewards of Bold Action was commissioned by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and highlights job creation and the positive effects on leading Michigan industries (manufacturing, agribusiness and travel and tourism) through increased investment in roads and bridges.
The study also defines the costs associated with poor road conditions including congestion costs, medical costs related to accidents, and vehicle repairs costs.
The study found that Michigan’s urban road conditions are quickly falling behind neighboring states and are well below the national average.
