Public Private Partnership (P3) legislation expecting action in Senate
Senate Transportation Committee nearing end of testimony, could vote next week -

Legislation that would allow Michigan to enter into P3 agreements may finally see action as soon as next week. House Bill 4916 was passed earlier by the House, but has become a controversial bill in the Senate. A key project that is expected to be completed using a P3 agreement would be a new crossing between Detroit and Winsor dubbed the Detroit River International Crossing (DRIC).
ACEC has been supporting HB 4916 through a coalition led by the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. The vote in the Senate is expected to be very close and ACEC is urging members to contact their Senators to urge support for the legislation.
