James W. Page, PE

Felix A. Anderson Image Award

Jim retired in 2010 from Harley Ellis Devereaux where he served as Detroit office Managing Principal Corporate Director. Prior to the merge with HarleyEllis, he was president and CEO of Ellis/Naeyaert/Genheimer Architects and Engineers. Throughout his professional career, Jim was, and still is, committed to improving the public's perception of the engineering profession. He has the keen ability to recognize opportunities to enhance the image of engineers at both a statewide and national level. More importantly, Jim always took action to capitalize on those opportunities.

Jim's professional involvement, in a wide variety of outlets, was always pursued with an eye on public perception of the engineering community and improving the profession's service to the public. His work on behalf of ACEC/M with the Board of Directors, legislative affairs, the engineering excellence awards, and as a member of the host committee for the fall and regional conferences helped both educate and engage the community. His participation in YMCA, public school career days, and the annual Engineering Society of Detroit Future City Competition was especially geared to grade school children and their education and understanding of engineering, and the value that the profession brings to society at large.

Jim is also a long time member and current co-chair of the Oakland County Business Roundtable Transportation Committee. This group is dedicated to improving our transportation infrastructure, an issue that is central to the daily lives of Michigan residents.

Jim's professional achievements center on leadership and inspiration. As a leader on many fronts, he was able to encourage, mentor, and inspire others to take an active role in the engineering profession and in their communities. Jim's ability to "make things happen" has been recognized by his peers. Recognitions include ACEC New Principal of the Year, national finalist; ACEC/M President's Award for Outstanding Committee Chairman; Society of American Military Engineers Fellowship; and American Institute of Architects Honorary Affiliate.

In case his has not told you, Jim is a Michigan State alumnus. Go Green!
