After the Nine Mile Road Bridge over I-75 collapsed, MDOT chose a design/build delivery approach to complete emergency repairs. This plan provided the quickest method to reconstruct and reopen the bridge to traffic, and design the associated improvements of I-75 including reconstruction of the freeway, drainage, and superelevation modifications.
